Summer School Activities/Events Preparation

Updated: 4 days ago

The summertime can be known as a time of relaxation. However, education administration, facilities management, and general management are still working during the summer to keep control over school buildings and other facilities. Consistently keeping these spaces clean is necessary during the summer because of the extra time that is available. Ensuring these spaces are clean each week for school events and summer school is crucial.

There are steps that can be taken to ensure that a building, especially school buildings, is prepared for any upcoming summer events, summer school, and even for the upcoming school year in the Fall.

  • Inquire About Planned Summer Activities/Events

Find out when summer events, camps, athletic events, construction, or IT maintenance will occur in order to plan projects and cleaning jobs accordingly. Injuries, accidents, hazards, and uncleanliness could occur with planning ahead.

  • Inspecting, Repairing, Ordering

Floor tools and supplies, and cleaning supplies such as vacuums, mops, brooms, etc. may need to be inspected and ordered if they are broken or missing. Cleaning and disinfectant sprays, bathroom materials, and other materials may need to be ordered if there are going to be occupants in the building.

  • Evaluating Floor Condition

Evaluating and examining the condition of all floor surfaces in the hallways, bathrooms, lobby, etc. should be prioritized to determine which cleaning products would be most effective and if there are any repairs that need to be done to the floor surfaces.

As summer activities are starting, it’s important that the spaces and areas in schools and school buildings, along with other facilities are prepared for crowds once again and that the crowds are safe from possible hazards.
